Editorial policy

This site does not write religious rulings. Each page has three parts. The first is a short answer written in plain English from a published source article. The second is the Quran verse or hadith the answer rests on, reproduced word for word from QuranEnc and HadeethEnc. The third is a quoted excerpt from, and a link to, the full source article at IslamHouse.com or IslamReligion.com.

The short answer may not say anything that is not in the source. Each page shows one of two labels. Reviewed by [name] means a named reviewer has checked the answer against its source. Scholarly review pending means the answer was summarised faithfully from the cited source but has not yet been checked by a scholar; it is published so that the source itself is easy to find, and it will be reviewed in turn. If you believe a page misrepresents its source, use the contact link in the footer and it will be taken down while it is checked.

The site takes no advertising, sells nothing, and has no affiliate links. Its purpose is to get a question answered and to connect the reader with a daʿi who can go further.
