Is allah a different god?

In one sentence

No; Allah is simply the Arabic word for God, the one Creator worshipped by Abraham, Moses and Jesus, with no partner and nothing like Him.

Allah is not a different god. The word is Arabic for God, and Arabic-speaking Jews and Christians use it too. In Islam, Allah is the one God who has no partner, who created everything and is not part of His creation, and who sent all His messengers, including Abraham, Moses, Jesus and finally Muhammad, peace be upon them, with the same call to worship Him alone. Nothing is like Him; He is the First and the Last, all-knowing, all-merciful, and absolutely just. He is near to those who call on Him, He forgives every sin except associating partners with Him, and He promises Paradise to those who obey Him. So when a Muslim says Allah, he means the God of Abraham, not a rival deity. The short text “Twenty Facts about Allah (God) in Islam” lists these beliefs one by one.
